This song is completely fictional. Based on nothing but a name. Lorraine was a really sweet older woman that ran a 24 hour diner on Damen and Chicago Avenue, aptly named "Lorraine's Diner". It wasn't the nicest place, but it was open, and they had coffee at night when I was reading a lot of Cometbus. An old friend and I used to hang out there often when I first moved to Chicago, and we came up with this song on one of those nights at the diner's bar. Lorraine eventually closed, packed it up, and moved to Florida.
